El cielo es un concepto altamente polisémico. Es una experiencia común, ya que independiente de las lecturas que podamos hacer de los astros o estrellas que lo habitan, todos vemos el mismo sol y nos cobija la misma noche. El cielo es una realidad global, así como el arte es una instancia de circulación planetaria. Venimos de un territorio reconocido mundialmente por tener los cielos más despejados que permiten la observación del universo, algo de eso nos define también a nosotras.
Para esta instancia presentamos dos proyectos artísticos que reflexionan desde este gran marco que es el cielo.
Javiera Gómez, en un límite entre lo objetual y lo escultórico, nos presenta una serie de piezas en cerámica y otra en metal que proponen un imaginario donde lo mágico se cruza con lo estelar. Aquí se da forma a varitas y seres que nos permiten conexiones extra-terrestres. Mientras que Noël Saavedra presenta “Ex – Caelo”, serie textil que combina la dimensión sensorial y atmosférica del cielo con los relatos existentes en torno a los ángeles caídos.
The sky is a highly polysemic concept. It is a shared experience, since regardless of the interpretations we may make of the celestial bodies or stars that inhabit it, we all see the same sun and are sheltered by the same night. The sky is a global reality, just as art is a space of planetary circulation. We come from a territory internationally recognized for having some of the clearest skies for observing the universe, and something of that also defines us.
For this event, we present two artistic projects that explore the vast expanse of the sky. Javiera Gómez, straddling the line between object art and sculpture, presents a series of ceramic pieces and another in metal that evoke an imaginary world where the magical intersects with the celestial. Here, wands and beings take shape, allowing us to make extraterrestrial connections. Meanwhile, Noël Saavedra presents “Ex – Caelo,” a textile series that combines the sensory and atmospheric dimensions of the sky with existing narratives surrounding fallen angels.
